Joanna corset

The Joanna corset is a high racerback overbust corset with front close lacings. Princess seams shape the bust. It fits snug to the body, structured enough to be worn sans-bra. You can pair it with an undershirt or wear it commando!  The front laces closed with a delicate pink vintage rayon ribbon.  This is an early prototype of the Joanna corset, with serged seams visible in some places inside.

This modern “Ohio Star” quilt was originally made as a small square wall quilt. It was just barely large enough to cut this corset from it! Expertly pieced and quilted, with near-perfect corners and precise stitch-in-the-ditch quilting.

There is flexibility in the sizing, as you can wear it with as much or as little of a gap in the front as you like. At its tightest, with the laces snugged tight together, this corset measures 34″ at the bust and 26″ at the bottom edge. From the highest point of the shoulder to the bottom edge, it measures 17″, which sits above your natural waist. The scoop front drops a very modest 5″ from the hollow of your throat.
