  • Upcycled quilt coat
  • Vintage 1950’s Double Wedding Ring
  • It has pockets!
  • Size Large

This Penny Lane coat is made from an exceptional “Double Wedding Ring” quilt that dates to the 1950s. The workmanship of this quilt is remarkable. Every stitch is made by hand, and they are tiny and perfectly consistent throughout the quilt. The color work is excellent, featuring scrappy prints, ginghams, and apparel fabrics alternating with soft blues. A few of the fabrics are going threadbare, but the vast majority of them are still in very good condition. The edge binding is hand-stitched also, with deep scallops that follow the rings of the quilt pattern.

The Penny Lane coat features princess seams and a wide, pointed shawl collar. The sleeves are slightly flared, with a wide cuff. It has welted hand warmer pockets.

All the seams are bound with bias tape to create a durable coat that will last for years of wear and withstand machine washing and drying. I would recommend the delicate cycle due to the age of the fabrics.

This coat is a size large, measuring 45″ at the bust, 42″ at the waist, and 50″ at the hip. It has a 17″ shoulder and 23″ sleeve. It measures 35″ at center back.
