Sleeve Swap Trucker Jacket

I used a vintage “Trip Around the World” quilt for the sleeves on this denim trucker jacket. It features earthy greens and shades of warm burgundy and maize. It is hand-quilted and machine-pieced.

The jacket is in like new condition, barely worn. The denim is a deep indigo that will fade beautifully over time with years of wear. It has breast pockets, hand pockets, and inside pockets. It is an Old Navy brand jacket, but I am impressed with how well made it is! The denim is a sturdy, heavy weight, many of the seams are flat felled, and lots of attention has been paid to finishing details.

On the inside, the armscye (that’s the technical term for the sleeve hole) has been flat bound with bias tape, and the long sleeve seams are bound in coordinating bias tapes. Keeping raw edges covered is a classy touch that makes your jacket wear better in the long term, and be more durable. This jacket is machine-washable and dryable. I recommend washing it with “color catchers” the first couple times (I put some in the pocket for you).

This is a longer-length women’s cut, approximately a size medium or medium-tall. It measures 38″ at the bust, nips in to 31″ at the waist, and flares to 35″ at the bottom hem, which falls at the high hip. The shoulder is 13.5″, and the sleeve is 25″. It measures 21.5″ at the center back.
