Sleeve Swap Trucker Jacket
$150.00
- Upcycled denim trucker jacket
- Antique hexi pattern quilt
- Size Small
This jacket features sleeves made from an antique hexi quilt. The quilt dates to the 1930s or 1940s and is entirely hand stitched and hand quilted. The quality of the work is remarkable: all the corners meet perfectly, and the stitches are tiny and consistent. I called this my “honeycomb quilt” for its warm, buttery yellows and honeyed gold colors.
The jacket was originally from Aeropostale. It has breast pockets, hand pockets, and inside pockets. It is cut for a slim fit, narrower in the torso, shoulder, and sleeve than the average trucker jacket. The denim has a little extra stretch (2% Spandex) to make the trim fit comfortable. The inside out photo shows how the armscye (that’s the technical term for the sleeve hole) and sleeve seams are bound with bias tape for a clean, durable finish that will withstand machine washing and drying.
This jacket is labeled a size small. The chest is 34″, the waist is 29″, and the bottom hem is 31″. The shoulder is only 13.5″ (slim fit), the sleeve is 24″. It measures 18″ at center back.
Please note: the back side of this antique quilt shows “tea stains” that did not wash out even after several treatments.
